For the 2015 edition of the Ojude Oba Festival, star artistes like
D’banj, Korede Bello and Alabi Wasiu Pasuma will be on hand to entertain
indigenes and tourists who will throng Ijebu Ode for the festival, just
as Globacom’s ambassadors like Odunlade Adekola and Funke Akindele will
make special guests’ appearances.
The icing on the cake will be a beauty pageant tagged “Miss Ojude Oba”, which will be staged as a special feature of Globacom’s participation in this year’s festival. At the pageant, young and delectable ladies of eighteen years and above and who are of Ijebu origin and are students or graduates of any of the leading institutions of higher learning within Ijebuland are eligible to contest.
Addressing a press conference in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, last Monday, on the 2015 edition of the festival slated for September 25, the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Otunba Wahab Osinusi showered praises on Globacom for being one of the very few indigenous companies extending hands of fellowship to the development of the cultural heritage of the Nigerian people.
“Every year the Ojude Oba is held, we have observed with delight, the deep passion displayed by the people while showcasing their interpretation of their cultural identities through their dresses, songs and dance steps. We are thrilled when we see the joy and camaraderie radiating throughout the land,” he said.
